Handmade Lotions with Essential Oils and Bach Flowers

Home Made Creams and Recipes

I learned how to make all natural lotions from my sweet
neighbors Julie and Francine.

Here is the basic recipe;
1 1/2 cups Water
4 Tbs. Emulsifying Wax
2 tsp. Glycerin
1/3 cup Sweet Almond, Grape-seed or Fractionated Coconut Oil
2 Tbs. (heaping)  Steric Acid
1 tsp. Citric Acid

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and microwave for 2 minutes or until water is milky whit, careful not to boil. When it has cooled some (I add some ice cubes to help it cool) blend with an immersion blender until smooth and fluffy. Add you oils and and blend again. Then pour it into jars or bottles.

I have made:
  • Queens Cream (a cleanser)
  • Day Dreamer (a moisturizer)
  • Diva Dreams (a moisturizer for day and night)
  • Night Watch ( fabulous night moisturizer and repair for night time)
  • Desert Diva (An Aloe based gel moisturizer for those "too much sun times".)
  • Sulky Sultan (A Bach flower and essential oil Rescue cream) for anxiety and stress.
  • Flower Power (A Bach flower and essential oil Energy cream) for a natural pick me up. -     16 drops Energy Bach Flowers and a little essential oil of you choice.
Do those sound fun or what? We have all noticed a difference in our own skin since we have used these new face body care products. They are fun to make and fun to use.

Pretty new quilt

When I was in beauty college
one of the horrors that was brought
to our attention
was lice,
yukky lice.

I'd never thought much about lice at all really.
Well one day they shut our school down early because one of the girls had
found lice crawling around in the shampoo bowl.
EWWE!

It makes me itch to tell you about it.
Our instructors all bleached their hair that night to kill any unseen threat.

About two weeks later I was shampooing a clients hair and I noticed
tiny little flying insects and of course you know what I thought they were.
I excused myself carefully and got one of the now very blonde instructors.

She assured me that they were only fruit flies coming from the
Thanksgiving decorations near the
shampoo bowl.

Whew!!

That was such a relief.
Such a relief.
