The Day Dreamer Moisturizer Recipe

Some of my little creams
This has been so fun for me to do.

I promised you the recipe so here is the recipe for
The Day Dreamer Moisturizer:

In a microwave safe glass bowl add:

1 1/2 cups water
1 tsp. citric acid
Heat until citric acid is completely melted, add:
4 Tbls. Emulsifying wax (or beeswax)
2 tsp.glycerin
2 Tbls. (heaping) steric acid
heat until all is melted, don't boil, add:
1/3 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil and Rose Hip Oil - mixed half and half.
1 teaspoon (5ml) Vitamin E Oil.
Whip with an immersion blender.
Now add the 1/2 cup ice water or ice chips (more is fine if needed to make light and fluffy.).
When cooler add:
8 drops Lavender essential oil
1 drop Chamomile essential oil
8 drops Geranium EO
4 drops Lemongrass EO
6 drops Rose Absolute EO
5 drops Vanilla EO
2 drops Ylang Ylang EO
2 drops Peppermint EO

When cool - Whip, Whip, Whip with an emmersion blender until all light and fluffy.

Reminders:
Be sure to heat water to almost boiling for citric acid
Use 1/2 or more cups of ice chips or ice water and whip until light and fluffy
For the sake of the oils don't add the essential oils until the mixture is cool.

Put in little jars with lids. You will love it. Your face will love it. Your friend's faces will love it!

Handmade Lotions with Essential Oils and Bach Flowers

Home Made Creams and Recipes

I learned how to make all natural lotions from my sweet
neighbors Julie and Francine.

Here is the basic recipe;
1 1/2 cups Water
4 Tbs. Emulsifying Wax
2 tsp. Glycerin
1/3 cup Sweet Almond, Grape-seed or Fractionated Coconut Oil
2 Tbs. (heaping)  Steric Acid
1 tsp. Citric Acid

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and microwave for 2 minutes or until water is milky whit, careful not to boil. When it has cooled some (I add some ice cubes to help it cool) blend with an immersion blender until smooth and fluffy. Add you oils and and blend again. Then pour it into jars or bottles.

I have made:
  • Queens Cream (a cleanser)
  • Day Dreamer (a moisturizer)
  • Diva Dreams (a moisturizer for day and night)
  • Night Watch ( fabulous night moisturizer and repair for night time)
  • Desert Diva (An Aloe based gel moisturizer for those "too much sun times".)
  • Sulky Sultan (A Bach flower and essential oil Rescue cream) for anxiety and stress.
  • Flower Power (A Bach flower and essential oil Energy cream) for a natural pick me up. -     16 drops Energy Bach Flowers and a little essential oil of you choice.
Do those sound fun or what? We have all noticed a difference in our own skin since we have used these new face body care products. They are fun to make and fun to use.

Pretty new quilt

When I was in beauty college
one of the horrors that was brought
to our attention
was lice,
yukky lice.

I'd never thought much about lice at all really.
Well one day they shut our school down early because one of the girls had
found lice crawling around in the shampoo bowl.
EWWE!

It makes me itch to tell you about it.
Our instructors all bleached their hair that night to kill any unseen threat.

About two weeks later I was shampooing a clients hair and I noticed
tiny little flying insects and of course you know what I thought they were.
I excused myself carefully and got one of the now very blonde instructors.

She assured me that they were only fruit flies coming from the
Thanksgiving decorations near the
shampoo bowl.

Whew!!

That was such a relief.
Such a relief.

Sunshine Chicken Barley Soup

Sunshine Chicken Barley Soup

I made a chicken soup the other day that I tweaked just a bit. Instead of making my usual Chicken and dumpling soup I used pearl barley and some dill butter carrots that I had made the night before. Well guess what, it was so delicious that I have been asked or I should say begged for the recipe, so here it is.

In a large soup pot put:

5-6 Chicken Thighs (Boneless and skinless, I use frozen)
1-2 large onions, chopped
4 cloves of garlic (halved)
4 cups frozen Sunshine Carrots (they are yellow and orange)
2-3 cups Chopped Celery with stalks (dark leaves and all)
2/3 cup pearl barley
3 tablespoons butter
3 Tbls. dried dill
2 Tbls. lemon juice
1/4 cup dried parsley
1 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 cup dried Chicken Bouillon

Fill the pot with water to a little above the ingredients.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 2-3 hours, adjust seasonings to taste,
Shut off and let cool a bit and then serve.

It thickens by itself and is very yummy.
It serves a lot so I take it to sick friends and also it freezes well and I save it for me when I am sick or don't feel like cooking.

Irish Friendship Blessing

I am going to leave you with an Irish Friendship Blessing today:

May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Some New Quilts

I just finished this quilt top. I can't wait to finish the whole thing. It will be for my 26th Grand baby.
I hand quilted it with pink crochet thread and it turned out darling.

This next quilt was for Nikki.

I  do love to quilt I feel like it is like painting a picture
with all of the colors and textures
it is so fun.

I will post Sissy's and Becky's as soon as I take a picture of them.

Love,
Grammy T.
