I Love My Buddy Burners

Frying EggsWhen I was a Girl Scout my leader,
Mrs. Thorpe, taught us how to
make buddy Burners.

They were so much fun and I used mine

all summer long to cook
my breakfast.

Frying Hash-browns
Well a few month ago I saved some large tin cans from my food storage, the one's you get at the Bishops Storehouse or Cannery, and I washed and saved some tuna cans.
Frying toast
Then This morning Sarah, Matilda and I made up the burners.

It was so much fun to cook our breakfast outside and
it was the best breakfast they had ever had,
for sure! :)

Sweet Memories for Sure

When I was little we lived on Argo Way in Sacramento,
my mom would get Canned Boston Beans and
Canned Boston Brown Bread.

The bread was sweet and we ate it toasted
with lots of butter.

The beans were very sweet too so it all made for
sweet memories for sure.

I found a recipe for the Canned Brown Bread.

I thought it would be very fun for
us all to try to make our own.

But if you are too busy and want to buy them
here is what they look like
in the can.

B & M Brown Bread Original (Plain) 16 oz.

Old Pictures of The Day

Fannie Virginia Casseopia Lawrence

The young lady is Fannie Virginia Casseopia Lawrence. She is 5 years old in the picture and was a slave girl in Virginia and was redeemed in Virginia by Catharine S. Lawrence. She was baptized in Brooklyn at Plymouth Church by Henry Ward Beecher.

It is Heartbreaking to me.

I Love this blog called Old Picture of the Day.
I really do.

You should go to his page and take a look.

You know the old saying
"A picture is worth a thousand words"?

It is really true and the pictures are here on
"Old Pictures Of The Day."

After you visit the Blog of PJM
please write me and tell me which of the pictures
touched you the most and I will reply.

Love,
Grammy T.
