What about your bad temper? You've got a problem there.

December flew right by and I missed blogging it.
These are a few of the beautiful white Christmas animals
that I wanted to blog about.
Gorgeous animals but all to convenient for their predators, aren't the little one's darling?

I received this via email and at first it didn't sound interesting but as I started to read I found that it is very interesting and true. I hope you like it too

This is in two parts:
The prayer (in blue type) and GOD (in red type )-in response.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father Who Art In Heaven.
Yes?
Don't interrupt me. I'm praying.
But, you called Me.
Called you?
No, I didn't call you.. I'm praying.
Our Father who art in Heaven.
There -- you did it again!
Did what?
Called ME.
You said, "Our Father who art in Heaven"
Well, here I am… What's on your mind?
But I didn't mean anything by it.
I was, you know, just saying my prayers for the day.
I always say the Lord's Prayer.
It makes me feel good, Kind of like fulfilling a duty.
Well, all right. Go on.
Okay, Hallowed be thy name ...
Hold it right there.
What do you mean by that?
By what?
By "Hallowed be thy name"?
It means, it means .. . Good grief,
I don't know what it means.
How in the world should I know?
It's just a part of the prayer.
By the way, what does it mean?
It means honored, holy, wonderful.
Hey, that makes sense..
I never thought about what
'hallowed' meant before.
Thanks. Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Do you really mean that?
Sure, why not?
What are you doing about it?
Doing? Why, nothing, I guess.
I just think it would be kind of neat if you got
Control, of everything down here like you have up there.
We're kinda' in a mess down here you know..
Yes, I know;
But, have I got control of you?
Well, I go to church..
That isn't what I asked you.
What about your bad temper?
You've really got a problem there, you know.
And then there's the way you spend
Your money -- all on yourself.
And what about the kind of books you read ?
Now hold on just a minute!
Stop picking on me!
I'm just as good as some of the rest
Of those people at church!
Excuse ME..
I thought you were praying
For my will to be done..
If that is to happen,
It will have to start with the ones
Who are praying for it.
Like you -- for example .......
Oh, all right. I guess I do have
 some hang-ups.
Now that you mention it,
I could probably name some others.
So could I.
I haven't thought about it very
much until now,
But I really would like to cut out
some of those things.
I would like to, you know, be really free.
Good.
Now we're getting somewhere.
We'll work together -- You and ME.
I'm proud of You.
Look, Lord, if you don't mind, I need to finish up here.
This is taking a lot longer than
 it usually does.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
You need to cut out the bread..
You're overweight as it is.
Hey, wait a minute! What is this?
Here I was doing my religious duty,
And all of a sudden you break in
And remind me of all my hang-ups.
Praying is a dangerous thing.
You just might get what you ask for.
Remember, you called ME -- and here I am.
It's too late to stop now.
Keep praying. ( pause .. . )
Well, go on.
I'm scared to.
Scared? Of what?
I know what you'll say.
Try ME.
Forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who sin against us..
What about Ann?
See? I knew it!
I knew you would bring her up!
Why, Lord, she's told lies about me, spread stories.
She never paid back the money she owes me..
I've sworn to get even with her!
But -- your prayer --
What about your prayer?
I didn't -- mean it..
Well, at least you're honest.
But, it's quite a load carrying around all that
bitterness and resentment isn't it?
Yes, but I'll feel better as soon as I get even with her.
Boy, have I got some plans for her.
She'll wish she had never been born.
No, you won't feel any better.
You'll feel worse.
Revenge isn't sweet.
You know how unhappy you are --
Well, I can change that.
You can? How?
Forgive Ann.
Then, I'll forgive you;
And the hate and the sin,
will be Ann's problem -- not yours.
You will have settled the problem
as far as you are concerned.
Oh, you know, you're right.
You always are.
And more than I want revenge,
I want to be right with You . . (sigh).
All right, all right . .
I forgive her.
There now!
Wonderful!
How do you feel?
Hmmmm. Well, not bad.
Not bad at all!
In fact, I feel pretty great!
You know, I don't think I'll go
 to bed uptight tonight.
I haven't been getting much rest, you know.
Yeah, I know.
But, you're not through
with your prayer, are you?
Go on.
Oh, all right.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Good! Good! I'll do that.
Just don't put yourself in a place
where you can be tempted.
What do you mean by that?
You know what I mean.
Yeah. I know..
Okay.
Go ahead. Finish your prayer.
For Thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory forever..
Amen.
Do you know what would bring me glory?
What would really make me happy?
No, but I'd like to know.
I want to please you now...
I've really made a mess of things.
I want to truly behave like Christ
I can see now how great that would be.
So, tell me .. . .
How do I make you happy?

"YOU just did".

Grammy T.

The Babe of Bethlehem

Where is the Babe of Bethlehem?

In the stable small,
With Mary His mom and Joseph so tall?

No He's not there still yet,
He is in heaven with His Father I'll bet.

The story says He will come again
bringing Peace and Love
from our Father above.

How can I show my love to Him?
By doing His will with every whim.

I had to rework my first poem and then remove it.
I am much happier doing it from a little child's perspective.

Cooking For A Crowd Everyday

Tahoe Reunion 2000

And that is what you do if you have a large family,
cook for a crowd everyday.

Starting dinner in the morning for younger moms allows you to have things like

homemade bread, scones, pots of beans or slow cooker meals.
Then at dinner time you know what else has to be done to finish up quickly.

You aren't going to blow the budget for a fast food deal.

Back in the day I didn't have money to go fast fooding.

With seven kids and needing to save as much as possible on food

because I wanted my kids to take piano, gymnastics,
dance and play sports, etc.  I would plan for meals
a month in advance and go to the store just once
or twice a month.
(I told you it was back in the day)

Also my kids loved Susie Sunshine, (the recipe is here)

a hot cereal made with cracked wheat and
they loved breakfast for dinner with pancakes
and eggs too so that was an easy
fix in a pinch.

You cut my hair Miss Jiggy Gum

A Little Chinese Pixie I Met In My Travels

Do you remember the time that you cut my pony tail off because you were mad at me Miss Jiggy Gum?

I remember too but we made up and were BFF's anyway.

Our moms were always getting into tiffs and I never knew when it would happen. I'd get home from school and be told that I wasn't allowed to play with Jiggy anymore.

"Why this time Mom?" Because, blah, blah, blah.......

So I couldn't and that's-that for sure.

My hair grew and Jiggy and I always forgave each other.

But it sure took our mom's a lot longer to be nice.

What does that goof-ball do around here?

A talk from our Stake President today:

A large company,
feeling it was time for a
shakeup, hired a new CEO.

The new boss was determined to
rid the company of
all slackers.

On a tour of the facilities,
the CEO noticed a guy leaning on a wall.

The room was full of workers and he wanted to
let them know that he
meant business.

He walked up to the guy leaning against the wall and asked,
'how much money do you
make a week?

A little surprised, the young man
looked at him and replied,
"I make $400 a week."

The CEO went to his office and came back with a
$1,600 check and yelled:

"Here's four weeks pay, now get out and
don't come back."

Feeling pretty good about himself the CEO
looked around the room and asked,
"Does anyone want to tell me what
that goof-ball did
around here?"

From across the room came a voice,
"Pizza delivery guy
from Domino's."

 Now that’s what I call
a dang good tip!!

Sisters Cafe and Spiritualizing

I forgot to post our Witchy Palooza pictures for this year.
It was so fun!

"Once we allow people to start spiritualizing and refining,
or as they might say 'deepening'
the sense of the word
Christian...
it will become a useless word....
It is not for us to say who,
in the deepest sense, is or is not close to
the spirit of Christ.
We do not see into men's hearts.
We cannot judge...
It would be wicked arrogance
for us to say that any man is, or is not, a Christian."
~ C.S. Lewis

Now to a fun blog I want to share with you.
It is called..
"Sisters Cafe"
and these girls can cook!

Holiday Glazed Doughnut Muffins

Don't These Look Delish?!

I saw these this morning and
by this evening I was able to find the post
for the picture and the recipe.

I thought with the holidays coming up
that we could all use some fun new ideas
of make ahead recipes.

So this is the first I am sharing.

For the Muffins:
  1. 1/4 cup butter
  2. 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  3. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  4. 1/3 cup brown sugar
  5. 2 large eggs
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  8. 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  9. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  10. 3/4 teaspoon salt
  11. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  12. 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  13. 1 cup milk
For the Glaze:
  1. 3 tablespoons butter; melted
  2. 1 cup confectioners’ sugar; sifted
  3. 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  4. 2 tablespoons hot water
  5. Zest of orange (my addition) abt. 1-2 TBLS.
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line 12 muffin cups with muffin liners or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together butter, vegetable oil, and sugars till smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time. With the mixer on low speed, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and vanilla until just combined. Stir the flour into the butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour and making sure everything is thoroughly combined.
  3. Spoon batter into cups, filling the cups, and smooth tops. Divide batter equally among prepared muffin cups. Bake until muffin tops are a pale golden and springy to the touch, 15 to 17 minutes, rotating halfway through baking time. Cool muffins in muffin tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack and cool 10 minutes before glazing.
  4. To make the glaze, In a medium bowl mix together the melted butter, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and water. Whisk until smooth.
  5. When muffins have cooled slightly, dip the muffin crown into the glaze and allow the glaze to harden. Once hardened, dip a second time  and allow to harden then serve.
Yields: 12 muffins
Note: Muffins will keep at room temperature for about a day.

I Love Fancy Guppies

Did you know that I love Guppies? Well I do. They are gorgeous.

When I was little I lived on Argo Way in Sacramento, California.
It was a little house that sometimes had a silver side when the rest was
painted pink and I could tell people to look for the silver house when they
were hunting for me.

Any who... the neighbors had guppies. Not a big tank just a big bowl and those guppies had guppies and then those guppies had guppies.

Whew it was so fun to see the explosion of little pretty fish and I got
some guppies too.

Much better than the poly wogs that I caught every spring at St. Mary's Cemetery, the place I was forbidden to ever, ever go.

"Where did you get those poly wogs?"  Mom would ask and of course being the angelic child that I was I answered "In the gutter by Jiggy's house."
Of course she really believed that.

Back to my guppies...So when I couldn't do a lot with my hands and because some of my Granddaughters came to help me clean my house so that one of them could raise $7.00 for a frog house and we had to go hunting for all of the important things that go with little critters. I wound up at the pet stores
and couldn't resist the beautiful guppies that they have now.

Guppies have really changed since I was little. They are gorgeousThere are red, blue, green, purple and much more.

There is a blue and a leopard mama in my tank. And I had a leopard daddy that Christi bought me for my birthday. He died but I am going to get another one because he was so, so beautiful.

One of the funny things that happened is that about 30 little baby guppies
that were six weeks old had babies! I had to put on my reading glasses to see them.

I keep my tank at about 80 - 82 degrees and I guess that is what happens when they are kept nice warm.

So now I have many, many Fancy Guppies.

We Don't Bow to Things

The Christus on Temple Square in SLC
A great man in our church once said:
"We teach our people correct principles
and then let
them judge themselves."

I love this saying and I love
"The Gospel of Jesus Christ."

Two summers ago, after our family reunion,
we took some of our family to Temple Square in SLC
and of course we went to the Visitors Center
where the Christus
is displayed.

While we were looking at the Christus
a little boy of middle Eastern decent
walked up to the Christus and stood
in awe of the beautiful representation
of Christ. And then bowed to Him.
It was very touching.

That is something we don't see in our church but my little granddaughter

thought it was a nice thing to do so she followed
him in his praise of Christ.
Very Sweet!!

Precious Little One's

Our Savior Jesus Christ also has a body

Because we, the members of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,
don't believe in the Nicene Creed we are deemed
by some folks as not being Christian.

In other words we believe that
God is our Heavenly Father,
He has a body and we are made in his image.

and is one with the Father in purpose,

not in body.

The Holy Ghost is also a separate being.

Having been raised in one of the "other" Christian Churches,
that believe in the Nicene Creed,
I asked my Momma
what God looked like.

She said that I should think of Him as a big head floating
and listening to my prayers and that
He could be everywhere.

As a little tiny girl my teachings of
Jesus Christ was much easier to understand.

Jesus came to the earth and was born of Virgin Mary
and He loved me and He walked the earth
just like me and he was good and kind
and He truly loved little children.

He said we would go to Heaven if we were good like He was
and if "we were as a little child".

I loved Him so much and many times
I felt Him with me.

The Holy Ghost scared me at first because ghosts were
scary to little girls.

In fact my little friend Sally Jo was saying her prayers one night
at my Nana Pills' house and she ended her prayer...

"In the name of the Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost".

Well that did it for those two little one's
and my Nana had to sleep with us to get us to calm down.

Children are so Dear you know.

I Will Not Complain

Tate is getting so big.
He is such a cute little guy.

Hi all, this is my first time back to my Blog in a very long time.

I broke my wrist when I fell in the shower the middle of July
and to mend I needed an operation of a metal plate
and seven screws.

I am just now back to typing with two hands.

With physical therapy I am hoping to be able to use it better through the
next few months.

I just watched Nie-Nie and I don't dare complain.

Here is her blog:
 http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/

And here is a video about her:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHDvxPjsm8E

So you see why I will not complain.
